WelTec - Bachelor of Addiction Studies

Moana House Training Institute - Te Taketake Diploma in Addiction Counselling (level 7)

WinTec - Paetahi Tumu Kōrero Bachelor of Counselling (important note – HSC0603, HSC0705, and HSC0706 and at least one placement in an addiction setting must have been completed as part of this qualification. Students are required to provide evidence of this)

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) - Paetahi Tumu Kōrero Bachelor of Counselling (important note – HSC0603, HSC0705, and HSC0706 and at least one placement in an addiction setting must have been completed as part of this qualification. Students are required to provide evidence of this)

University of Auckland - PGCert HSc and PGDipHSc in Alcohol and Drug Studies (important note - applicants for registration must also have a bachelor degree in health or social sciences and complete the core papers (POPLHLTH 737, POPLPRAC 707, POLPRAC 708).  

Addiction qualifications (non-applied)

meet qualification requirements for full registration for those who are provisionally registered and have an applied Bachelor in Nursing, Social Work, Medicine or Counselling

Auckland University of Technology - Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Health Sciences (important note - PSYCH 714 and PSYCH 711 must be completed alongside other AUT requirements. Students are required to provide evidence of this).

Auckland University of Technology - Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Health Sciences in Mental Health and Addictions (important note - MENH 804 and MENH 805 must be completed alongside other AUT requirements. Students are required to provide evidence of this).

National Addiction Centre, University of Otago - Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Addiction & Co-existing Disorders (important note – PSME404 and PSME422 must be completed as part of the qualification. Students are required to provide evidence of this).

WelTec - Graduate Diploma in Applied Addiction Studies (important note - AS 6233 and AS 6232 must be completed alongside other WelTec requirements. Students are required to provide evidence of this).
