 are committed to supporting members to grow and develop through continuing professional development (CPD), and want to make training opportunities accessible.   Check out our 2018 workshops. Of note, we have international addictions and mindfulness guru Valerie Mason Johns providing training in November in Wellington and Auckland.

Mindfulness - Valerie Mason Johns (1 day)

The international mindfulness addiction expert Valerie Mason Johns will be facilitating two workshops for dapaanz in November. Valerie Mason-John, co-author of Eight Step Recovery: Using the Buddha’s Teachings to Overcome Addiction, explores how our stinking thinking can be our biggest addiction and how loving kindness can save lives. Valerie has her own powerful story of recovery.

If you can get 15 people together we can provide workshops on:

  • ethics and boundaries, trauma/PTSD, working with sexual abuse, mindfulness, transactional analysis for addiction practitioners, working with Māori, working with Asian, co-exiting problems (CEP), or other topics if you have a specific need in your area. 

The cost for one-day skills-based workshop is $230 pp for members and $290pp  for non-members and $440 pp for members for a two-day workshop and $580 pp for non-members.  Dapaanz one-day workshops are worth 30 CPD points per day with no upper limts and two-day workshops are worth 50 points with no upper limits (for non-dapaanz workshops check out the CPD to find out how many points you can earn).
